At Lower Block we love to celebrate football culture through sleek aesthetics and photographic storytelling. We’ve joined forces with Somerset-based illustrator Kye Dalzell, aka KDDESIGNS6, for a unique t-shirt capsule collection.

Kye Dalzell, has a growing reputation for his vivid, character-rich portraits. Known for capturing the swagger and artistry of players like Ronaldinho and Rivaldo, Kye’s work has earned global recognition, even from the stars themselves.

The collaboration features four minimalist designs paying homage to footballing legends Diego Maradona, Zinedine Zidane, Roy Keane, and Brazilian icon Ronaldo.

The four T-shirts all come in white and carry Lower Block’s branding on the front. The back of the garment features Kye’s brilliant illustrations which celebrate football icons from season’s past wearing iconic jerseys from memorable moments and tournaments.

The Diego Maradona tee portrays the iconic number 10 wearing his captains armband in Argentina’s famous blue and white stripes during World Cup Mexico 1986. Argentina would be crowned world champions, but not before El Diego’s infamous ‘Hand of God’ goal against England.

The Roy Keane tee depicts the Manchester United hardman wearing his iconic number 16 jersey between 1994 and 1996. At the time, Manchester United were captained by Bryan Robson and Steve Bruce, however Keane would eventually take the armband from from Eric Cantona to become one of the clubs most succesfull club captains, revered for his leadership and determination.

The Zinedine Zidane tee shows the elegant Frenchman during the World Cup 2006 in Germany. Zizou, as he is affectionately known, was France captain at the time and widely regarded as the best player in the world at that time. The tournament would end badly for Zidane and France, losing the final to Italy after Zidane received a straight red card for head-butting Italian defender Marco Materazzi.

The Ronaldo tee shows the Brazilian legend celebrating after scoring during the World Cup 2002 in South Korea and Japan. Nicknamed ‘The Phenomenon,’ Brazil won the tournament with Ronaldo also winning the golden boot, scoring 8 goals. The world’s best player at the time, Ronaldo also made headlines for his bizarre haircut – which he used to detract attention away from a serious knee injury he was recovering from.
