Latest book includes flashback to Euro 96 and the fans and their fashions.
Wembley was rocking. Football was coming home, and celebrated photographer Martin Salter was there.
Salter focuses on the fans with his Euro 96 collection featured among his works in his book Memory Lane.
His canvas is “ordinary Britain”, recording how we dwell within rural or urban landscapes.
Critics of his work describe it as posing challenges for us to to question who we are, and where we are.
“Memory Lane is a narrative of strangeness, of chance encounters”.
The fans around Wembley provide classic examples. Ordinary supporters captured in the moment, forming just part of the story that is Salter’s Memory Lane.
