Full Description

Cityzens of Manchester is a series of photographs by Richard Davis on Manchester City fans during their historic treble winning season parade through Manchester City centre.

The limited edition A5 zine contains 38 colour photographs across 32 pages.

The photographs focus on the diversity of City supporters during those celebrations – men and women, young and old, all coming together.

Davis compiled a photographic essay that records not just a footballing triumph, but a cultural breakdown of modern day Manchester.

“I wanted to focus on the fans rather than the players at the end of City’s most successful season ever. The joyful celebrations. All of life was there – from babies up to old age, male and female fans. it was such a good representation, all coming together as one to celebrate City’s amazing achievement.” Richard Davis

Midlands born Richard Davis has an impressive archive of pictures that captures the music and football scenes in the north west of England during the 80s and 90s which can be seen at British Culture Archive and has a series of publications with Café Royal Books.
