Old Trafford, the iconic football stadium of Manchester United, is located in Greater Manchester, England. Opened on February 19, 1910, it has been the home of the club for over a century. Known affectionately as the “Theatre of Dreams,” a nickname coined by Sir Bobby Charlton, Old Trafford has hosted countless memorable matches and has become a symbol of Manchester United’s rich history and success in football. With a capacity of over 74,000, it stands as one of the largest and most famous football stadiums in the world.

John Ingledew is a photographer and a published author of several books such as And Now Are You Going To Believe Us, published in 2006, which is crammed with photographs charting Chelsea’s climb back up from the depths of the old Second Division to the very top of the football tree.

His unique black and white photographs preserve moments as though in “a sliver of time.”
