Live Forever | Oasis Reignite 90s Culture

Share

Alex Amorós captures the fans, fashion, and football culture surrounding Oasis’s Wembley return — a celebration of music, identity, and terrace style that continues to define generations.

London-based Spanish photographer Alex Amorós captures more than just moments — he captures movements. During five electric days surrounding Oasis’s triumphant return to Wembley Stadium, Amorós documented the pulse of a generation still living the spirit of Britpop and football terrace culture. With his 35mm analogue camera in hand and a deep-rooted love for both rock and football, Alex embedded himself among the London crowd – a sea of bucket hats, retro football shirts, and adidas x Oasis merch – where Mancunian pride and Manchester City blue met the thunder of guitars and the chants of thousands.

These photos tell a story that stretches far beyond the music: they reflect a lifestyle. Oasis weren’t just playing songs; they were reigniting a culture — one where the boundaries between gig and matchday blur, where rock ‘n’ roll meets the terraces. As lifelong City fans themselves, the Gallagher brothers have long embodied the fusion of music and football that Alex seeks to portray — a fusion that exploded across Wembley like a vintage anthem shouted from the stands. This is a visual love letter to that explosion.

“The atmosphere inside and outside Wembley Stadium was incredible during the five days that I was taking snaps. I had the opportunity to see the live show on July 30th and I was impressed not only by the musical level of Cast, Richard Ashcroft and Oasis but by the good vibes among the audience. What we experienced was an explosion back to life not only of a musical band, but of a way of life for a generation that has seemingly influenced a younger generation. I haven’t experienced anything similar in terms of fan phenomenon in a long time.

“These photos of Oasis fans took me back to a time when me and my mates were all teenagers and enjoyed music, sharing experiences, and above all, we were present in the moment. For a week I was transported to another era and as a lover of all music based on the guitar, I enjoyed the moment and moshed with all the other fans in the standing section – always the best location in my opinion, Rock and Roll is like football – an experience to share energy where one receives and gives and you have to feel it and be in the right place in this case…..the standing section or the terrace!

“I decided to shoot everything in analogue in 35mm format and with manual focus,  to follow the aesthetics of the time. I was looking for a diverse audience and spots where I could execute my shots. I thought about everything in detail and did not rush, the idea was to leave a photographic document of these five days and that is something that the analogue gives you.

“Regarding football culture, as you can see, there were multiple shirts and fans, mostly Manchester City but also many other teams. It was a pleasure to meet, among other people, the creators of the Boro Shirt Museum. I was struck by the number of Maradona shirts that I could see as well as other Italian teams, I suppose it was something generational from that time. I had time to meet many fans of different teams from Ajax, Celtic, IFK Goteborg to Real Zaragoza and even kick a giant plastic ball while it was captured on camera without knowing it! It’s time to be back!” Alex Amorós
