Estadio Riazor, also known as Estadio Municipal de Riazor, is a renowned football stadium located in the coastal city of A Coruña, in the Galicia region of northwest Spain. With a capacity of approximately 32,660, it has been the home ground of Deportivo La Coruña since its inauguration in 1944. Deportivo, commonly known as Depor, has enjoyed periods of significant success, especially in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Super Depor won their first La Liga title in the 1999-2000 season, making a mark in Spanish football. The stadium, situated near the Riazor beach, has witnessed numerous memorable matches, including epic Champions League nights during Deportivo’s golden era. Estadio Riazor has undergone several renovations to meet modern standards, maintaining its status as a beloved landmark for fans and a fortress for the home team.

Super Riazor is a photo series by photographer Alex Amorós on the architecture and surrounding of Estadio Riazor, the stunning home of Spanish football team Deportivo La Coruña. The limited edition A5 zine contains 37 colour photographs across 44 pages, including a personal memoir by former club president Augusto César Lendoiro.

The sun-kissed Estadio Municipal de Riazor rests peacefully on the picturesque coastline of the Atlantic Ocean in Spain’s Galicia region.

Augusto César Lendoiro is synonymous with the rise and glory of Deportivo La Coruña, having served as the club’s president for a 25-year tenure from 1988 to 2014. Under his leadership, Deportivo experienced unprecedented success, ascending from the lower tiers of Spanish football to become a formidable force in La Liga and on the European stage.

Lendoiro’s shrewd management and astute transfer dealings played a pivotal role in shaping what became known as Depor’s golden era, which culminated in the club clinching their first and only La Liga title in the 1999-2000 season,

As president, his ambitious projects saw the renovation of the modern Estadio Riazor and the establishment of Deportivo as a household name in Spanish football.
