Independent football and travel magazine Glory has launched a crowdfunding campaign for The Global Guide to Football Culture, a new publication marking ten years of documenting the game’s culture around the world.

The 320-page book brings together a decade of stories exploring the people, places and traditions that shape football beyond the game’s most commercialised stage. Organised by destination, the guide combines essays, photography and local insight to create a portrait of football culture across continents – from neighbourhood clubs and historic stadiums to the communities that sustain the sport.

Produced in collaboration with a global network of writers and photographers, contributors include respected football voices such as Philippe Auclair, Guillem Balagué, COPA90 and James Montague.
The book carries Glory’s recognisable visual approach: strong photography, clean design and a confident editorial style. The hardback features a purely photographic cover capturing a supporter glancing over his shoulder during the Poznań celebration – an image that reflects the energy and shared moments that define the matchday experience.
The anniversary edition expands on the standard release. Available only to campaign backers, it is presented in a magnetic-closure box finished with a minimalist black-on-black foil design extending the Glory mark. Inside, the book is paired with a mounted photographic print selected by the editorial team.

As BBC South American football correspondent Tim Vickery describes it, the book feels “like a mixture of an old-fashioned compilation tape, a collection of treasured football programmes and a dog-eared tour guide”.
For platforms focused on documenting authentic football culture, the project reflects a shared outlook. At Lower Block, we’ve long admired Glory’s strong visuals, precise design and commitment to telling football stories from the ground up – where the game lives in streets, terraces and communities across the world.
