A new photography exhibition, Hull City on Film, is set to open at HOi Bar on Princes Avenue this April, offering an intimate glimpse into the dedicated world of Hull City supporters. Captured entirely on 35mm film by lifelong Tigers fan David Jones, the exhibition showcases the raw energy, rituals, emotions, and camaraderie that define matchdays at the MKM Stadium.

Jones, a website designer by profession, has spent years documenting the fans and atmosphere surrounding Hull City. What began as a personal passion has evolved into a treasured collection of images which focus on the people, the traditions, and the moments that make football special.
“From the highs and lows of the match to the simple joy of reconnecting with friends over a pint, football brings people together. That’s what I wanted to capture,” Jones explains.
Curated by local photographer Victoria Smith, Hull City on Film is part of a series at HOi that highlights local artists. Smith believes Jones’ unique approach to sports photography deserves recognition: “His work is both nostalgic and fresh, capturing matchday moments in a way that truly resonates with fans. It’s a privilege to bring this exhibition to the community.”

The free exhibition, running from April 26 to May 26, 2025, will feature limited edition prints and photo zines available for purchase. Fans are encouraged to attend the opening night on April 26, following Hull City’s final home game of the season, for a celebratory evening dedicated to football and photography.
Hull City on Film will open on 26 April and will run until 26 May, HOi, 22 Princes Avenue, Hull.
