Stone Island has unveiled the Spring/Summer 2025 “Ghost” collection, continuing their “Community as a Form of Research” project with a monochromatic, minimalist approach. This collection sees actor Ethan Ruan, NFL player Garrett Wilson, and former Japanese footballer-turned-entrepreneur Hidetoshi Nakata as its key faces.

Stone Island is synonymous with football terrace culture, a reputation built from its association with casuals and ultras across Europe. The brand’s signature compass badge—often displayed proudly on the left arm—has become an emblem of status within these communities. The importance of “getting the badge in” photos has evolved into a cliché among football fans, symbolising a blend of fashion and allegiance. However, the SS25 Ghost collection takes a more understated approach, maintaining the iconic badge but in a monochrome style that seamlessly integrates with the garments.

The Ghost collection continues Stone Island’s exploration of tonal precision and functional design. The all-black palette reinforces a sense of uniformity, allowing the collection to blend effortlessly into its surroundings—a nod to the camouflage concept that inspired the Ghost line. Nakata’s all-black overshirt, crafted from the brand’s new diagonal linen fabric, epitomises this philosophy.
